Sports Massage Therapy – A form of body work that caters to athletic performance. With sports massage, we focus on getting muscles to stop over compensating and keep them balanced. This form of massage also helps athletes recover faster and help prevent injuries.
NMT (Neuromuscular Therapy) – With this technique, we use pin point accuracy to help release the trigger points in the muscle belly. Using this technique, we also have the client move in different ranges of motion to help get the muscle to relax and start firing properly. We help build that mind to muscle connection.
CuppingTherapy – This form of massage allows us to use silicone cups and glide them across the muscles to help provide blood flow and nutrients to the area being targeted. This helps break up the adhesion that are cause in the fascia by overuse of the muscle or neurologically inhibited muscles.
Scraping/Graston – In this type of massage, we use Instrument Assistant Soft Tissue Mobilization (a.k.a. IASTM), which is the use of a metal tool to help break up muscle adhesions and help provide blood flow and increase circulation. This type of massage helps release the top layers of muscle fascia a lot quicker while relieving muscle tension.
Soft Tissue Manipulation – This technique targets the underlying issues, by working on the trigger points, which will release the muscles that are overcompensating. Overcompensating muscles generally result in pain, so focusing on the trigger points will generally relieve discomfort and increase range of motion.
Deep Tissue – This type of massage helps get to the deeper layers of the muscles and connective tissue. This is a great approach for chronic aches and pains.
PNF Stretching (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation) – This type of massage is great for increasing range of motion! In this session we help the brain and muscle work in unison while increasing range of motion. While the Therapist is performing a stretch, we have the client resist for 3-5 seconds and then immediately have them relax as we push pass their threshold and we repeat until maximum ROM is achieved.
